抹茶 or matcha means ''ground tea'', which is exactly what it is. Matcha is a green tea powder originating from Japan and a centuries-old tea ceremony.

WAO Matcha is grown in mineral-rich soil in Japan on Goko and Samidori tea plants. During the cultivation process, the tea plants are covered with a shroud during the last period before harvest. The tea leaves are only reached by 10% sunlight, which leads to an increase in chlorophyll. The unique cultivation process in turn leads to an increase in vitamin and antioxidant levels in the tea. In addition, substances such as L-theanine and caffeine increase. It is usually said that a cup of matcha contains approximately 40mg of caffeine.
